Mtec News | A look back at 2018

This year has been one of unprecedented successes for Mtec as a company and has seen us travel wider, work harder and innovate further. As well as many professional challenges and achievements, we have had the honour working on many projects this year in a philanthropic capacity; something we have always strived for in our 25 years of business and hope to continue and expand upon in the years to come.

Our role as sponsors this year has allowed us to be involved with several prestigious projects and prizes which we hope will go on to become synonymous with the Mtec name, as is the case with those to which we show our continued support. This year we have been able to contribute towards the second Hepworth Prize for Sculpture, a prize extremely entwined with the companies history and core values, and show our continued support for the seventh year running of Sculpture in the City. We have also been lucky enough to sponsor the installation of two sculptures in this year’s Frieze Sculpture Park, a fitting development to our ongoing relationship with the Park and it’s curator Claire Lilley, as frequent and longstanding installers and project managers.

This year also saw our involvement in the remembrance of the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day with the relocation of a very special commemorative plaque at Great Ormond St Hospital and the final installations of the 14:18NOW Poppies tour at the Imperial War Museums in London and Manchester. Our association with this unprecedented project over the last 3 years has been an extreme privilege, and to be linked with a tour that will forever be a part of not only the commemoration of the Armistice, but a standalone event in the country’s cultural history itself, is something which will stand as a highlight of Mtec’s history forevermore.

Next year we hope to emulate and expand upon our involvement in similar projects not just within the Art World but also the communities around our HQs; including our continued sponsorship of the Arlesley Town Youth Football Club. We are already in talks with many exciting colleagues, clients and collaborators about projects in 2019 and beyond and hope to keep you updated over the coming months.
