We are pleased to announce that phase 1 of our new Gallery Viewing Spaces is now complete at our Enfield facility. Based 30-40 minutes from Central London we have created a fully climate-controlled, lockable viewing space, suitable for the installation and photography of 2D and 3D artworks. Set within 20,000sq.ft of storage space, and with a large external access shutter (approx. 4 x 4m), we are able to store and install large-scale pieces all at the same location.
The space has been designed to reduce double-handling, cut down on labour and transport costs and make installation easier for our clients, and we have taken steps to ensure that the space has a specification to match any formal gallery space.
At approx. 8 x 6 x 6m, our viewing room is built around a central sub-frame, with full 360° access around the rear of the space. This enables us to secure large sculptures without structural issues and install works which require complex installation behind the walls (such as neons) with ease.
We have equipped the space with an ETRAC universal gallery track system as well as a range of lights (spots, floors and a fluorescent t5 lighting system for background lights. We have also purchased two new forklift trucks which are designated to the facility (a 5 tonne electric and a 7 tonne diesel) as well as an access platform suitable for use when adjusting the lighting or working behind the subframe. Of course in addition to these new resources, we also have access to the existing inventory of Mtec equipment.
We have already used the space for a number of viewing and photography projects with great success and look forward to working with new and existing clients in facilitating the installation of works at our new space.
