Ron Arad @ St. Pancras International

After installing Ron Arad’s ‘Spyre’ at the Royal Academy of the Arts earlier this month, we’ve become huge fans of his work. This week, the Tel-Aviv based designer unveiled his monumental sculpture ‘Thought of Train of Thought’ at St. Pancras International, suspended high above the very platforms which he clearly remembers staring above on his first visit to the station in 1973. The twisted aluminium blades, which have been fabricated by a Dutch shipbuilder, rotate slowly in a manner which echoes the constant movement of ‘Spyre’, and which Arad hopes will have a calming effect on the bustling and busy commuters below.

You can read more about ‘Thought of Train of Thought’ here. To read more about our installation of ‘Spyre’ at the RA and to watch a video of the installation please visit our previous blog post here.

Royal Academy Summer Show 2016

Installation for this years Royal Academy Summer Show is now well underway and we’ve been busy installing Ron Arad‘s monumental work ‘Spyre’ in the Academy’s Courtyard. The constantly moving sculpture has a built-in camera which is constantly recording the sculptures surroundings, watching those observing the piece and the surrounding space. You can view a video of the piece, shot by Arad’s studio here.

This week we uploaded a video of us installing the piece on our Instagram account and Arad spoke from his studio about the piece for the RA, which you can read here.
